Job description

Heart of England Co-operative Society are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join the IT team as a Project Manager.

 

Main purpose of job:  Responsible for managing projects from inception all the way through to implementation across the society to help achieve the societies goals.

 

Division: IT

Position reports to: Head of IT

 

Length of contract: 2 Year Fixed Term

 

Main duties

*         Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects within the retail environment, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.

*         Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

*         Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including retail operations, IT, marketing, and finance, to gather requirements and ensure project success.

*         Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

*         Identify potential risks and issues early and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery.

*         Proactively monitor project progress, identify deviations from plans, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

*         Provide leadership and guidance to project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

*         Set clear expectations, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure team members have the necessary resources to achieve project objectives.

*         Implement best practices and methodologies and quality assurance within the retail environment.

*         Conduct thorough testing and validation of software solutions to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements.

*         Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.

*         Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, issues, and risks.

 

 

Qualifications

*         PMP, CSM, or PMI certification in Project Management desirable

 

Relevant experience

*         Proven experience in project management focusses on internal business change

*         Experience within a Retail environment

*         Proven experience of full project lifecycle from initiation to successful completion

*         Experience in both traditional (waterfall) and Agile project delivery.

*         Proven experience of using structured project methodologies and tools such as and Microsoft Project and Excel

*         Proven experience in dealing with customers/users and establishing long term client relationships demonstrating the use of excellent inter-personal skills

*         Experience within projects requiring substantial internal business process change

*         Proven experience of working in a user environment involved in the introduction and use of IT systems
