Area Manager Designate

 

Main Purpose of Role: To work alongside the Area Manager in order to develop the skills and behaviours necessary for a potential Area Manager role in the future. To cover the area in the absence of the Area Manager.

 

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • To support the Area Manager by preparing and deputising for them at any meetings.
  • Support with providing line management advice, guidance, and support for the Area Manager’s Stores.
  • When supporting the Area Manager, ensure the delivery of brilliant standards, exceptional service, and safe and secure stores across the area.
  • Ensure that your own Store is set up to succeed during the period of you supporting the Area Manager with no decline in standards or service.
  • Maintain an active and up-to-date knowledge of the day-to-day activities, future strategic plans and performance of the Area you are supporting, playing an active role in the weekly area calls and other meetings as required and other business required initiatives.

  • Maintenance of high standards and service in own Store.
  • Delivery of own store KPI’s and audit compliance.
  • Positive reports from Store Managers and other colleagues within the Society when covering for the absent Area Manager.
  • Effective two-way communication achieved when leading on Area calls and other business initiatives.
  • Develop and demonstrate positive relationships with key stakeholders from other departments from within the Society.
