Heart of England Co-operative Society is looking for a talented and driven Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Coventry. As a key financial partner, you'll support strategic decision-making, drive financial excellence, and work closely with colleagues across various departments to support the Society's growth and success.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide commercial finance support to monitor growth plans and manage risks.
• Assist with the month-end close process, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Collaborate across departments to align financial objectives and improve performance.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.
• Enhance and monitor the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow processes.
• Conduct cash flow forecasting to help manage debt levels.
• Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights.
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Support ongoing process improvement initiatives across finance functions.
• Undertake ad-hoc tasks as required by the Head of Finance and executive management.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Criteria:

• Qualified or finalist accountant (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA) with 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting software.
• Strong analytical skills, capable of managing data and providing valuable insights.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality financial reports.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Growth mindset with a focus on learning and continuous improvement.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience with the Access accounting package.
• Previous experience in the retail sector.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large volumes of data.
